For centuries, Istanbul has been the financial and economic capital of it’s region. As being one of the main stops of the famous Silk Road, Istanbul welcomed thousands of merchants,traders, shoppers and caravans throughout the history. In the old days, bazaars and markets were the main locations were the finest goods from all over the world were bought and sold. Some of those bazaars are still standing today such as the Grand Bazaar, the world’s first shopping mall, and attracts millions of shoppers every year.

In order to keep up with the ever changing dynamics of retail industry and to compete other major shopping destinations in the world, new and modern shopping malls has been built all over Istanbul. With over 100 shopping malls full of local and global brands; Istanbul still maintains it’s positon of being an important commerce center.

1) Zorlu Shopping Mall

2) Kanyon

Kanyon is one of the most prestigious real estate projects in Istanbul consisting of offices, residences and a shopping mall. Located in the Levent district of Istanbul, Kanyon is one of the most conveniently located malls in the city, accessible by both metro and public bus.

Kanyon’s state of the art archtitecture and design allowed itself to become one of the coolest places in the city. Opened it’s doors in September 2007, İstinye Park is one of the biggest shopping malls in Turkey in terms of retail area. Thanks to it’s 87.000 m² retail space with 300 stores, İstinye Park offers endless choices for its visitors.

Akasya is another huge real estate project built in İstanbul consisting of offices, residences, apartments and Akasya Shopping Mall. Akasya is one of the most prestigious shopping malls in the city and the best one in the Asian side of Istanbul.

Emaar Square Mall Istanbul was built by Dubai based Emaar Properties which is one of the most famous and largest real estate development brands in the world. Opened in 2017, Emaar Square Mall was designed as a shopping, entertainment and gastronomy center in the Asian Side of Istanbul.

As one of the youngest shopping malls in the city, Emaar Square has become an important destination since its opening, thanks to it’s multipurpose concept.
