Sabiha Gökçen Airport is located in the Asian side of Istanbul, within the Pendik district. The airport is named after Sabiha Gökçen, worlds first woman fighter pilot. Passengers can travel upto 44 domestic and 128 international destination from Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

Istanbul Airport on the other hand is located in the European side of Istanbul, next to the Black Sea coast, and just 35 kilometers away from the city center. The first phase of the project was opened in 2019 with a slogan of “The World’s Air Transport Hub “. Once the project completed, Istanbul Airport will host flights to more than 300 destinations with an annual capacity of 200 million passengers. Istanbul Airport is also known as the main base of the Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s flag carrier airline company.

There are 8 different public bus lines from different points of Istanbul to the Istanbul Airport. These public bus lines are operated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In general, public bus lines to the airports usually cost 2 full fares, which is equal to 5,20 Turkish Liras as of 2019.

Istanbul Airport is accessible via public buses numbered; H-1, H-2, H-3, H-4, H-6, H-7 and H-8. Among these 8 lines, “H-2: Mecidiyeköy – İstanbul Airport” line is the most centrally located one because it’s literally in the center of Istanbul. HAVABUS Shuttle buses are providing airport transfer service to Sabiha Gökçen Airport. It is an affordable and convenient option to reach the airport. HAVABUS shuttles are operating to and from Taksim and Kadıköy districts of Istabul, which are the centers of European and Asian sides of Istanbul respectively.

From Taksim to Airport and from Airport to Taksim ticket price for one passenger is only 18 Liras. If you want to use the Kadıköy line, you will only have to pay 14 Liras.
